I love a good breakfast, but I don’t always have the time nor do I always want to take the time to make something for it.

That’s why I love smoothies. Smoothies are quick, you can combine a ton of healthy ingredients all into one, and they’re much more efficient than actually having to sit and chew your breakfast. And this smoothie bowl isn’t any different.

It only takes 3 minutes to make and it tastes like you’re spooning pure cake batter into your mouth. Ugh, huge fan!

3 Minute Smoothie Bowl Recipe

Ingredients

1 banana

250mL milk of choice***

2 scoops protein powder***

1 tbsp coconut oil

4 tbsp psyillium husk***

1 handful walnuts

frozen raspberries (as many as you’d like – I only used a few for sweetness)

4 drops of vanilla

Optional: 1 tsp tumeric

Optional: 2 tbsp oats

NOTES: I noramally use the light brown Oatly milk for my smoothie recipes as the ingredients listed in that particular carton are fewer without any extra “additions,” but for lack of that one being in the store last grocery round, I used the barista version instead for this one.

I also used MYPROTEIN Chocolate Peanut Butter for this recipe, but any flavored protein will do (you don’t really taste much of it after all the other ingredients are added.)

The pysillium husk acts as a thickener and for that you will need to blend for longer to help create the consistency for the bowl. It also helps aid in digestion so be aware that you may need to run to the restroom shortly after consuming. (There are many suggestions on use for this ingredient, I am no doctor or nutritionist, I can only tell you that I’ve never had any issues occasionally consuming more than the serving size suggestion.)

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients into a blender or a safe container for your hand blender. (It’s best to combine wet ingredients first, then dry.)
  2. Transfer to a glass or drink straight and enjoy 😉
