We all have areas in life where we could be less wasteful. Deodorant is one of them.

Currently, there’s still conflicting information on the relationship between antiperspirants and breast cancer (due to the ingredient aluminum). Though, one thing is for certain: deodorants and antiperspirants are contained in a piece of plastic. Plastic that’s been intoxicating our planet for decades. And with every purchase, comes our contribution to that wretched plastic landfill. But, what if more of us made our own deodorant using the same recycled container over and over again?

Not only would we be cutting down on personal waste, but our total waste output would be noticeably less.

Do it yourself

Making your own deodorant is actually super easy.

It requires a few main ingredients, all of which {when purchased in raw form} can be used multiple times to create multiple batches of deodorant.

Ultimately, keeping your shelf in stock for months and months to come.

Plus, being the creator of your own stick (or jar if you’re choosing the finger-method as I do) puts you in complete control of what ingredients go inside your deodorant.

(A win-win for allergy-sensitive humans!)

The best part? You’re saving money and you’re cutting down on the waste from ready-made products you’d buy at the store.

It’s really that simple.

So, if you’re ready to make the change (as minute as it may seem), I’d love to help get you started with a deodorant recipe that I’ve been using for years…
